The evolution of Canada's AML standards is unrelenting. Even with a Department of Finance consultation and Parliamentary Review in progress, substantial changes to the PCMLTFA regulations were published on June 9th.
 

The proposed changes include:

• Virtual currency dealer regulations
• Prepaid access regulations
• New foreign MSB rules
• Updated risk assessment requirements
• STR timing changes
• Changes to ID requirements for both individuals and entities
